Guided tours
Do you know what a pepino is? Or a mangosteen?
If not, time to get acquainted with the colourful variety and bustling
atmosphere in the North’s centre of freshness. Hamburg Wholesale
Market offers guided tours around the wholesale market's fruit and
vegetable hall.
Tours are by arrangement, from Mondays to Fridays, starting at 7 a.m.
and last between one and 1.5 hours. Sorry, but you are not permitted
to shop!
Costs:
>
For business delegations and people with a professional interest, or
school
classes, people in training and retraining programmes and students
whose
courses have a connection with the market business, the tours
are free of charge.
>
For private individuals, groups and associations, school classes, trainees,
people
in training and retraining programmes and students whose courses
do not have
a connection with the market business, there is a charge
for the tour of
5.00 euros per person.
Who, what, when:
> Groups of at least 8 but no more than 25 people
> Reservations at least 6 weeks before the tour
> Reservations in writing (letter, fax, e-mail) naming contact person, the kind
of group and its size
> If school classes wish to visit (Grade 7 upwards) additional adult supervision
is needed, depending on the age group.
